At about 120k mi. On its 2nd transmission my 15 super duty dually had an issue shifting.
I bought a quality reman valve body a manufacturer I have used many times. After replacing it, I had hi transmission temperature on the test drive (243!)
They gave me a warranty replacement, and I put new fluid in again. After 1500 miles, it developed a really bad 1-2 hard shift, as soon as the trans warmed up (cycled at 197-207 with replacement VB)
I gave up and just called Randy’s.
They sell a NEW FORD OEM and it was same price as the reman.
Randy’s modified the the pressure, and deleted the stock thermostat. 80 degrees out on a drive to in n out with water and oil both at 180, trans was … 124!
Truck now leaves like it used to, It shifts firmly and you feel the converter lock but it’s all just firm, not hard.
Very happy I have them a call and talked to Darryl
    I couldn’t be happier
Oh, and it was ready for will call the day I ordered it, (lucky enough to live in SLC)

Towed on I80 at 80+ max
    transmission temp was 161
    That was with 235 oil
Yes I backed it down and transmission stays in 150’s
Amazingly happy with the valve body

As Farmers our Diesels are hooked to a trailer most of their lives. We did our first Step-Bro valve body recently to see if we found any improvement for our use. Running the truck to right after programing and we had a significant drop in temperature and now that the truck learning curve is over we ran it with no load and shifting was much improved over the stock valve body. Hay season is here so now we will see how it woks out under load. But at this point we are convinced that this improves the life of our truck transmissions and we will be doing all of our Farm trucks as time and $ allow. Hats off to RANDY’S.
Temperature dropped from 198 to 136.

My 2012 F350 with 354k miles on the transmission developed a really harsh 1-2 upshift and 3-2 downshift. Feeling confident the problem was the valve body, I purchased the Step Bro after finding a new valve body from Ford would be about the same price. After installing the Step Bro, my transmission is back to shifting smooth and firm like it was before. I also noticed a significant drop in transmission temperature. Usually my transmission fluid temp ran about the same as my engine oil temp, anywhere between 170-200 degrees. After the Step Bro install I noticed a 30 degree drop in fluid temperature. Engine oil was 170 degrees, transmission was about 140 (not pulling a trailer). If you need a new valve body for your 6r140, the Step Bro is what I would recommend. Whether you’re pulling a trailer or gapping Corvettes on the drag strip, it’ll do it all.

This valve body is freaking awesome!!! My 2016 F250 has 816,000+ miles on it. It’s on its 3rd transmission and probably 5th valve body. The factory valve bodies are extremely problematic and the shifts are garbage. Running 80+ down I-10 in west Texas heat, 110 degrees+ in some places the trani only gets up to 131 degrees, towing in the same heat the hottest the trani got was 161 degrees. I can’t say enough about the shifts either, this valve body shifts amazing, absolute butter shifts. I’m thoroughly impressed. Needless to say the way this valve body has impressed me, when I buy my next truck, it’s definitely getting a Randy’s Transmission.
